Lupe Fiasco Accuses Kendrick Lamar And SZA stole his Album Cover Ideas

Shortly after K Dot and SZA released their collaborative track “All the Stars,” Lupe took to Twitter to express his disappointment in the record’s familiar-looking cover art. Uproxx points out the Grammy-winning Chicago rapper posted a side-by-side comparison of the cover art for “All the Stars” and the cover art for his upcoming project Drogas Wave. The similarities were apparently too hard to ignore.

“Even I admit this is a little too close for comfort…damn now I guess I need a new album cover,” he wrote in a now-deleted tweet.

But he didn’t stop there. Lupe went on to suggest Kendrick has had habit of taking artistic cues from him. Lupe pointed to Kendrick’s simple Untitled Unmastered cover art, and how it closely resembled his Food and Liquor II cover. He also reminded everyone he did the whole “backwards album” concept with Tetsuo & Youth years before Kendrick did it with Damn. Oh, and he also claimed he was into ninjas before Kendrick introduced his Kung Fu Kenny alter ego.

Lupe later quoted a line from his “SLR 2” track, which was directed at Kendrick: “’No matter how far you go…you will reflect me,’” he wrote on Twitter. “[…] I’m getting deliciously suspicious.”
